You can use the current BBC websites and apps on your device as normal even when you have downloaded this app. The BBC Media Player will send you the playback of the content whenever you play any video or audio. Information on your playback experiences will be collected when using the BBC Media Player. Do not install this app if you don't like to be included in the usage report.
Permissions of BBC Media Player
Network Communication: BBC Media Player will ask for permissions to access to your phone's network communication when you install it. The network communication provides the BBC Media Player with the access to the internet which supports it to play programs.
System tools: The systems tools provide BBC Media Player with the ability to prevent your phone from sleeping when watching the programs. Aside from that, the system tools can also retrieve running applications on your phone.
Phone Calls: With this permission, BBC Media Player helps you to pause the programs you are watching if any phone call comes in. What impresses you most may be that BBC Media Player won't store any personal information or phone numbers of users.
